All Star - NTC/RTC Information
The Canadian Soccer Association (CSA) operates 5 National (NTC) and 6 Regional (RTC) Training Centers across the country to identify and train potential players for the Canadian National Soccer Team. The Canadian Soccer Association currently has U17, U20 and Senior National teams for both Men and women. Players are scouted and identified during the All Star National Championships and the Club National Championships in their respective age groups for the NTC/RTC Program. The NTC/RTC players train from November to May at least 4 times a week with nationally certified coaches under the direction of Dragan Mirkovic, NLSA’s Technical Director. The National Training Center Program further develops skill and understanding of the game by having players compete with other players identified with the potential to compete at the international level. These players are expected to meet very stringent fitness and technical standards and are constantly evaluated and scrutinized by the coaching staff. Each player is also evaluated by national team coaches at least 3 times per year to ensure they maintain the expected standards and are continually improving their skills. The level of dedication and effort required of these players is extremely high and they are considered to be some of the very best players in their respective age groups in Canada.
